I need a new motherboard cpu fan.

Hi,

I currently own the BIOSTAR A880G+ AM3 AMD 880G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard.

The problem with this motherboard is the cpu fan becomes very loud while I play games. Can anybody recommend a good replacement fan that will keep quiet under the stress of games such as Starcraft 2?

Well before you buy a new fan is the one you've got dusty? If so, clean it out.

Also, what case is it in? And check your cpu temps.

The fan is fairly new a month ago and it was cleaned a few days ago and i know the temperature is rather high since it's the summer also.

If you didn't put an exhaust fan in the back, you need to do that requardless and will help with the temps/noise.
If you have a stock hsf and already witha new fan, get a better cooler that comes with a quiet fan. Like the Hyper 212+ or there are some that cost less and perform better than stock.

Does your case have at least a 120mm exhaust fan mounted on the back of it? Because if your not overclocking the cpu, then it shouldn't be running hot even with the stock cooler. When you replaced the fan did you get the correct one?

Yea i have a 120mm fan in the back of my case and I think it might be because my computer is in a very enclosed space because i have no other room for it. Is the link you posted compatible with my micro mother board i don't seem compatible with AM3+ anywhere. sorry very new to these things.

if it is AM3 compatible then it is AM3+ compatible also. They use the same hardware, as does AM2 and AM2+ also.

Temporarily take it out of its enclosed space and see if that helps the temp.
