I need a Picture Database

I have 10,000 pictures which date over the last 70 years. I have tried to organize my pictures by spending about 1,000 hours over the last 10 years. So I’m wondering if there is a database out there that could organize my pictures, by date, place, etc. Now I really have tried to do this but I just can’t get it done right. Now if there is a database out there I know I will need to spend about a 100 hours with it and of course there will be many duplicates but I feel the more I work with my pictures the more I screw up I get so can anyone recommend a database for my for my pictures and I will be taking a lot more in the further and I don’t need to get even more screwed up.

I don't see any way of organizing for what he wants. I had the same problem.
I did a slideshow for family 15 yrs ago maybe longer. I was the oldest, but new where and new everybody. Scanned slides, negitives etc with Nikon Coolscan. wanted it from beginning to end. Created directorys and renamed always with something like 1962 higgins lake and loaded the pictures in that directory and. Good luck with this.
Maybe 1500 pictures. Its an adventure. At least my dad would date the slides and where and
year. that helped.

One thing though. Im sure you could copy names of pictures and sort in a database. 10,000 i would use Access.
Think Excel would be slow. thats a lot of pictures.

I organized pictures in a family picture directory.
created directorys there. like1950, 1951 and 1952.
always started like copy the pictures for 1950 there.
then renamed each one that might be first, 2nd, 3rd etc.
Don't know any other way to organize.
Not even to mention mine to do. been married 44 yrs.
