I have 2 good video cards Video Card - "NVIDIA GeForce GT 240 - 1 Gig Ram" and a "ATI Radeon 5750 1 Gig" and I need another one for my third computer so I go down and get a "Diamond Radeon HD 6450" which is a total piece of junk. So how do I get a video card that would at least equal my two other video cards. After hours of looking I just don't get it. I need help?

Diamong is a junk brand and all 450's and lower are purely for videos basically, nothing more.

I'd be looking on newegg at the hd 7750 or 7770, there's a big performance difference for a few bucks to go to the 70 and both kill both of your current cards. The benefit of the 50 is it needs no power cable, they are very efficient.

What is your power supply though? You dont want to put some cheap crap on full load as it will blow a cap and that can cause it to fry parts of the computer.

I don't get it?

For $80 I can get a MSI R7770-PMD1GD5 Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

My ATI Radeon HD 5750 1 gig (Plays Rage Good) is twice as strong as this Diamond Radeon HD 6450 1 gig (Can't play Rage)? I though the higher numbers for the card was supposed to be a better card. I get most of my computer stuff at Fry's Electronics and I can spend more money but I just want the best bang for the buck.

bigger number does mean better, when in the same range. a 6450 is better than a 5450, but a 5470 is better than both. You have to look in the same range. *8** is better than *7** and below, in all ranges. Do you understand now?

What's your power supply?

And the higher number for the last 3 tell you the relative performance for the generation which is the first number. So within the 7000 generation, the 7800's are stronger then the 7700's, and the 7870 is stronger than the 7850. And the 7850 is as powerful as the 6950 was and costs less, you cant just go by the number for different generations, you gotta look up some benches like on anandtech.com to see the true performance and to figure out what's best for you. And for future reference, the nvidis use a similar method, 600 is the current series and the 70 beats the 60, but they also have the ti version which in this scenario we'll just equate to a 65, it is weaker than the 70 but stronger than the 60.
