I Need Help Pronto!

I have recently purchased a game X-2 The Threat (Great Game!), it works well except for the fact that inside the game i can hear music and other sounds, but no speech. I can see the subtitles but that wont do. I went to the egosoft website and they say this problem is usually due to a CODEC problem. They gave me two troubleshooting options:
1. Re-order the audio codecs so that the Microsoft and Windows ones come first
2. Install a program (WMFDIST) and they said that should install a necessary codecs for the game to run.

I did both of these and still no speech

Any Suggestions? Clues? Hints? Tips?

Try turning down audio acceleration in dxdiag down a notch

Nope, sorry didn't work. I tried each notch in the acceleration and no difference was made.

Any more ideas?

What sound options are there within the game? and are your audio drivers up to date? And lastly what kind of Audio do you have?

No Sound Options, My sound card is aboard my motherboard, And a SoundMax driver.

Try the XP Codec Pack, I've found it to be a pretty reliable and user-friendly codec pack...

i prefer the ace mega codecs professional pack has any codec you will ever need
