my dads computer recently froze the motherboard and CPU broke,and need replacing so which is better

1.dual core 3.2 GHz(amd phenom x2 black edition) £71

2.quad core 3 GHz(amd athlon x4 640) £80

please take into consideration.

1. i want to play minecraft

2. i will have £104 pounds and need a mother board

3. i have a 250 WATT power supply.

my brother swaped parts around from his pc and he worked out that the mother board and cpu are broken

Providing the power supply can handle it, I would recommend the quad core as its more future proof to play more games.
