Hello fellow members, I need some serious help when it come to builting my dream computer(Gaming PC)

Ok anything with an asterick beside it i will not change, anything else is for yo to recomend

Oh yea i am a big fan of FPS games(Online/Offline) so i want to build around that thought.

*Thermaltake Level 10 GT
*Thermaltake Challenger Ultimate Keyboard
OCZ 60GB SSD(suggest a better 1) for my OS
16GB Corsair Vengance(suggest better)
24"-27"Moniter(i need 1 for less than 250 prefferably lower than 5ms)
Radeon HD 7970 3GB(if you can find better plz tell me)
R.A.T 7 Mouse from Cyborg (Prefferably under $90)

For the Processor i have always been a fan of AMD so i say AMD all the way but im rethinking that so if you could find a processor for under $250 that puts the AMD 8150 FX to shame please post it. My idea is that im gonna get alot of comments on the I5-3570K

Motherboard depends on the Processor

Welcome to the forums! :)

The Crucial M4 and SanDisk Extreme SSDs are both great drives, usually they are faster than OCZ drives, so look into one of those. The SanDisk Extreme 120GB is a great drive to go for and is faster than the Crucial M4, but the M4 is still very fast and a great choice.

The RAM is good, but 16GB is probably overkill. Perhaps 8GB would be better and cheaper? Corsair Vengeance is good RAM, make sure it's 1600MHz or faster.

The GTX 680 is a faster GPU than the 7970, but the 7970 is still very fast. Make sure you get a well-branded card from somebody such as Sapphire, HIS, MSI etc...

The i5 3570K is a fantastic processor. Paired with an aftermarket cooler such as the CM Hyper 212+ and a good board such as the GA-Z77X-UD3H, you can overclock it very well. At stock speeds, the older i5 2500K usually beats the FX-8150, so at stock speeds the 3570K should beat an FX-8120 - see the benches here http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/434?vs=288

The GA-Z77X-UD3H is a great board for the 3570K.

May I ask which power supply you have in mind? Make and model?

Thanks for the info. i was thinking of getting a 850W power supply, i didnt have any particular brand in mind though

850W is overkill for a single 7970, but if you want to add two or more 7970s in the future it'd be a wise decision. Go for a brand such as Corsair, Seasonic, Antec, XFX, PC P&C, OCZ etc.

Something like a 650W PSU such as the Corsair TX 650 would be fine for a single 7970 though. :)

OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
