i'm not very "computer savy" so i need some help

I want to get a laptop this black friday and found one that caught my eye...
it's a HP AMD Dual Core laptop for $388 :
4GB memory 500GB hard drive 17.3" screen
• AMD E-450 accelerated processor
• Webcam
• Wireless-enabled
• 5-in-1 media card reader

i've done a little research and some people say AMD is better than Intel i3, i5 or i7 processors for example...and i want to be able to use the computer for school, internet, simple games, things like that... It seems nice to me, but i don't know ?? if its not a good laptop, what would you suggest?

If you want something reliable I wouldn't get an HP; especially if it's on sale on Black Friday. Go with a more reliable brand like Dell, Lenovo, or even Toshiba.

^Agreed. HP used to be good, but they're a lot less reliable than they used to be. Dell, Toshiba, Sony, and Asus are all considerably more reliable. About Lenovo: according to this study by Squaretrade, they haven't been faring so well. Also, don't get an Acer/Gateway/eMachines. As far as I've heard, they're also quite bad.

yeaah that makes sense..but i'm trying not to spend a lot of money...but still wanted a good quality laptop
