whats the difference better pentium dual core and core 2 duo????

and 2nd question, im looking at the e6400 it says its got 2mb cahce is that actually 4 coz its doubled or just 2?

If your talking about the Pentium Dual Core E2000 series there just a core 2 with most of the L2 stripped and runs on a 800MHZ FSB. The E6400 only has 2mbs of L2

so the E6400 would be betteR?

what i dont get is, my cpu at the mo is running at 2.4ghz, so i get a e6400, but only one core works for one app say for a game, the e6400 is 2.14ghz, so techinically if im playing a game its gonna be slower as the speed is slower?

Unless your getting a good deal on a E6400, price wise and performance wise the E6750 or even better the E8200 are better processors. But clock for clock the Core 2 is faster than the Athlon so overall the E6400 is better than a single core 3800

If one core works on one game, then that games is coded for one core only... and it's very old. Newer games will utilize both cores.
