When I try to play FEAR after my computer has been on for a few hours/days, on the loading screen it will load part of it then it freezes and i get a bsod about it dumping the physical memory. Whats the major malfunction here?

Heat issue possible? Your system is certainly powerful enough though F.E.A.R. is certainly unforgiving with its demands. So, my first inclination is a cooling issue.

Sounds plausible, is it just FEAR or is it any CPU/GPU intensive task? Maybe try another game and see if that causes a problem.

Have you ever put it through any stability tests like Prime95?

Maybe Video

I had a video card once that had a problem like that except games would still play, but the computer would blue screen after a while. If you have another decent video card try it out and see if it fixes the problem.

I dont think it is a heat issue because other games will work. Its just FEAR that wont work.

Maybe some driver conflict? Or maybe it had a bad installation? I had a game that I installed and it kept getting blue screens so i reinstalled and now it's working fine. Also, did you patch FEAR to 1.02? I heard that patch had problems.

No, I have'nt patched it. Why would it work after I restarted though? Thats what doesnt make sense.

As far as I know Fear is extreamly demanding. Your system should make short work of it. so I suggest that you check your drivers. Specialy sound drivers. I have read a few reports of peoples sound drivers conflicting with the game.have you been on the fear web site to check for compatability issues?

There also could be a software conflict with a program that's leaving a hanging process. This would only be after you had some other programs open though, obviously...
