i need some help for my xp

i just get a overwritten of my window xp laptop, because there are some missing files of my previous window. i dont do the whole format because i dont want to lost my file, but after i overwritten another window xp, i cannot get back to the previous window's my document, and i really want to get back document, i know that it still there.

Just do a file search for the file name. Most likely they are under your old username such as username.old depending on how you did the repair.

It could have been put in a folder called windows old. Have doen that a few times myself.

i found the old window 's my doucment name, but i cant open it, it said access is denied ....

Do a google search on how to take ownership of files.

Left click>properties>security tab> click on your username>edit>apply.
