I have been having a lot of problems with my PC lately.
I recently formatted, what I thought to be my whole computer.
Now I have Windows XP Home Edition on one Partition, and XP Professional on the other.

I can't seem to make my computer boot from the CD so I can format and delete the partitions, and start from scratch.
Is there any kind of program that will do this for me?
And also, i'm not sure if i've corrupted some spots on my hard drive or not, heck, I don't even know if it's possible, I don't know all that much. But I was wondering if there was a program to completely wipe it out.

partition magic will do this, im not sure if xp home has this but under administrative tools click computer management, then disk management and u can do it from there too.

and what do u mean u cant boot from the cd? if u did it before then u can do it now

youw ill need to go into the bios and change the boot sequence from there. change it to boot from cd drive, should be set on hdd0 by default

why does he need to change it to boot from the cd drive? so mny ppl say that but its wrong, yes it does work but u only need to do that for vry old mobos. most mobos made within the last 5 years. when the comp starts up u need to push esc or f1 or f2, etc. one of them allow you to chose which to boot from.

I can press F5 or F8.
THey both bring me to the screen where I can choose from safe mode, "last know good configuration", and crapp like that, but no "boot from..." type options.
