Hello,

My laptop dc jack came loose, so I spent about an hour opening it up and fixed the dc jack, and put it back together :) and I turned it on, and the dc jack is now fixed :) but my touchpad will not work?

It's a toshiba satellite l500d-16m laptop, and I really need to fix it to sell

Any ideas why it's not working?

Windows 7 laptop too

Thanks :)

Did you remember to reconnect the ribbon cable for the touchpad back onto the motherboard?

thanks, this is the bit that I was thinking, I attached two but I'm not sure if I attached them correct, maybe I will need to open them up again, I've tried accessing system devices and it shows the keyboard but no option for touchpad/mouse comes up, do you think this might be the problem?

I'm was so glad that I fixed the power jack :) never opened a laptop or computer before :) thank you :)

Glad you got it :good:

If it makes you feel any better, I took a heatsink off an Acer laptop a few weeks ago but upon reinstallation, forgot to plug the fan back into the header. After sealing it back up and turning it on, it overheated, and I had to strip the entire computer down again.

Oh shoot! it's so annoying when that happens! also my screw driver skills are not the best... ;) thank you for your help the laptop is completely fixed now! :) I have spent £850 on my new computer I'm getting and need to find another £360 to get the graphics card and SSD, hoping this will help towards it :) still got a few things on ebay for sale so it's looking possible :)

Thanks! :)
