After about a month of researching laptops I've decided on the ASUS u56e-bal7. Does anyone out there have any experience with particular model? If not, what about ASUS in general? It looks they have a pretty good reputation, but I'd really like hear first hand what y'all think. Thanks.

I haven't owned an ASUS personally (until tomorrow 
) but I have used them quite a bit and love them. They are very high quality computers in my opinion.
What are you looking to do on the laptop?
That i5 is a pretty nice processor and the 6GB RAM will compliment it nicely and can be expanded to 8GB if needed.
Also, I can't really tell if this is completely right or not, but it looks like it has aluminum casing, aside from the bottom, you will find that that holds up very nicely if you're lugging it around in a backpack. My EliteBook is the same and it stays looking nicely all the time.
