Ok so heres the deal. like an idiot.

I tried plugging in my hard drive while the computer was on. with the.....serial ATA i think its called? Im not too sure.

big spark and now my comp is a vegetable.
What i want to know is it just the power supply and maybe the hard drive that is fried or am i at a full loss.

Don't replace the fuse by yourself, call the company and see what they say first.

I have hot-plugged hard drives before, never any sparks. Are you sure you plugged in the right thing to the right place?

I am pretty sure. PSU..... power supply i suppose?
heres the story

i was using 2 40 gigs.

then i bought a 120.

when i had the 120 in, i couldnt put anohter drive in cause it said like...

Reading from floppy...

reading from cd....

or something like that.

so i tried to plug it in while it was on.

and a spark shot and then the whole comp crashed.

I wonder why the spark.......something must have shorted and then the spark could have been caused.........because normally nothing wouls spark even with the PSU(Power Supply Unit) running. In my world, it must be the PSU which got trahed somehow. Get another one, and treat the wholde deals as if there was a hardware failure. Don't attach too much, keep it clean and simple, and only hook up to the mobo what you absolutely need at first. Post back what happens.
