I think I found the computer.

Hey guys I'm really excited to say that I may have just found the computer I wanted.

First off I'd like to say a BIG thank you to the user "spirit" as he has helped me pick it out a computer and put up with me this whole time. He is a damn good person who deserves moderator on this forum, or something like that!

Thank you to everyone else who has helped as well.

Now to the point...

That there is the computer, I could ask if I could buy it for 450 or so.
Please note that the currency is in New Zealand Dollars, therefor 450 NZ is about 360 USD.

As you can see it has Windows7 Etc.

Please tell me if this computer is good for it's price, and if it could play games such as "Planetside 2".

Once again, thank you guys so much. You have no idea how much it means to me tbh, small things like this really do have a large impact on people ;) and even though you may have found me slightly annoying at times I have actually gained A LOT of computer knowledge out of all this. So thank you.

Hey again,

Thank you for your kind words. :) It's honestly not a problem, any time. :)

Yeah that PC does look decent, just bear in mind though that CPU is actually a dual-core which has been unlocked to a quad-core (with the older AMD processors such as that one you could unlock cores with some of them and turn dual-cores into quad-cores etc). Although it has been unlocked and it has been overclocked, it may or may not be stable, so I'd be cautious about buying that.

Graphics cards looks good though, though the 6870 the Q6600 machine had was better.

I'd still take either the i5 750 or the Q6600 machines you were looking at earlier, probably the i5.

You should be able to play Planetside II with that. The minimum recommend requirements state a 6870 is needed and that machine has a 6850, but I doubt it'll make a whole lot of difference.

If they're gone then this computer would be good, are there any others which take your fancy?

Well the Q6600 one is still their for $500 but it does not come with an O\S so that is probably not to good for me as it would end up costing 650. Also it looks like some of the parts in it are quite old, as well as the case. But hmm lemme see what else there is.

What does an unlocked CPU do and mean anyway? Wouldn't it just make it better? and also an Overclocked Graphics Card ?

So in your guys honest opinions.. is this computer good. Also please answer my questions above this here. Ty.

Ehh ok forget about the Q6600.

You can overclock graphics cards and core unlocking is exactly that, you unlock disabled cores. Usually only AMD Phenom IIs can be unlocked but not every chip unlocks and you have to have a motherboard that supports it.

That computer's not bad at all really. The dual-core processor should be OK now it's been 'magically' turned into a quad-core and the graphics card is pretty decent. Go for it.

Not necessarily. It'll keep it cool, but sometimes the CPU won't be stable if it's unlocked.

What do you mean by unstable though. Do you think I would get at least 6 months of use with it before it dies? also how much ram could i put into it.

Unstable by it may crash a lot. Some chips unlock really well, and others don't, though I would hope f he's selling it unlocked and overclocked that it is stable.

Should last longer than 6 months, but if you get it home and it's crashing a lot, put it back to using two cores and remove the overclock.

I don't know how much RAM you can put in it because I don't know what board it has.

EDIT: Just seen it has an ASRock 870 Extreme3 Rev 2.0: you can have up to 32GB of DDR3 2000(OC)/1866(OC)/1800(OC)/1600(OC)/1333/1066/800 - so only 1333MHz unless you overclock it.

Ooooo very cool. Ty sir. Thing is though do you personally thing it is worth getting it or do you think I should wait. For now though I will wait for a few more opinions from other users. But how bout urself cause perhaps better may swing by..

It's a good rig, 'quad-core', 6850 etc, definitely a sweet little machine and it'll get you along nicely.

The trouble with waiting is you've been waiting for ages and it may be a while before something better comes along, and somebody else may snatch it.

I'd go for it.
