I think I got a virus...

I already posted about this, but I think I have a different problem now, but here is the problem:

I was using my computer, the GSplit file-splitting software, and it froze the computer, so I do the hold the power button for 5 secoonds to force it to shut down. I restart, and low-and-behold, I have no taskbar and little-to-none memory. Thank goodness for ObjectDock, as I was able to actualy use the computer, and know what was running, but Systeem Restore was also out of commission, giving me an error, as if something was blocking it from running. so now I'mreally sure I've got a virus, because: 1.There is no taskbar, so I can't get to my virus-scanning sofware, along with no Start>All Programs, because there is NO taskbar (and I can't just drag it up.)

2.System Restore is blocked, and and usable even in safe mode.

3. IE can't access free online virus-scanning sites, as Java isn't working, nor is Active X so I can't open the window OR use what the site even uses to scan.

So now, I guess all I can do now is hope that there is a boot disk I can make that scans, as I am not sure if I can burn CDs.

Please help!!! I NEED this computer, and there isn't anything I have the power to do that I know of.

Right now, I just booted the computer with knoppix so I could type this.

If this is something no one can find an ansswer to, just ask me to try and make it easier.

Also, this is what the desktop looks like:

have your tried booting in safe mode?
have you tried typing "explorer.exe" in the taskmanager's run box?
have you tried booting to last known good configuration?

by the looks of that hideous desktop, you probably have a whole whack of garbage on there...realplayer in and of itself is pretty much the closest thing to legal spyware that you can get.

time to save your important shit and cut your losses perhaps with a format!?
certainly looks like it would help

FYI: I havve tried booting in safe mode, typing explorer.exe only opens the Widows explorer program, and booting with the last known good configs didn't work.

By the way, realplaayyer is the only media player that can play almost any format, and more than half the icons on my desktop are on my protable hard drive.

But if thhis really is a virus, it is slowly destroying the compppputer. With every step I use to fix it, it gets worse. Now the internet is more or less gone. The service has been disabled, and I can't bring it back (services.msc).
