I think I hit my ceiling...

Ok today, I decided to pull from 2.3ghz to 2.4ghz. I was succesful, because of my super pi score going down 1 second when calculating 1 million. Now I thought I would go to 2.5ghz because that was my orginal goal from the start when I was @ 2.0ghz stock speed. But when I wanted to go to 2.5ghz, I booted up and I would not go past post BIOS screen, then next boot up it displayed a screen saying, -ERROR- Windows did not start last boot up attempt. Press F1 to change to default BIOS settings, or ESC to reboot. So I rebooted and went back to 2.4ghz. Now, I'm stuck, I'm about 100mhz from my goal and It won't budge. I was thinking I have to raise my V-core. But there is no way in BIOS to do that on my board, so I have to do it in OS, which I heard is risky and dangerous changing voltage and changing it in OS. I'm stuck. Suggestions Please Guys. I would really like to reach my goal.

Here is some basic information about my board, processor and RAM.

I don' think you understand. I've gone from 2.0 ghz to 2.4 ghz and I'm trying to get to 2.5 ghz. My board says it has jumper free configuration so I can overlcok without reseting jumpers. It automatically resets back to defaults.

No, I'm currently at 2.4ghz, and It will not go past 2.4ghz. It will stay at 2.4ghz, and It will not go any higher

you need to lower your HT link, it should realy stay under 1000 MHz, also raise your voltage and lower your ram if it cant operate at those speeds

Sorry, useless comment.......

But when I read the topic name, all I can think of was you jumping on your bed and hitting the ceiling.........

1200 is too high for your Hypertransport, you need to set it back to X4, you need to set your ram back from 677 to 533 or up the timming and or voltage. Plus if you cant change your CPU voltage you might be stuck were your at.
