i think my computer jsut crapped out?

i had counter strike source minimised, i went to go put in a cd, and then it froze. i went to restart it and then when it went to boot up the monitor didnt turn on, but i herd it get past the windows log in screen, i check all the plugs and i turned it off and took out the gfx card (7800gt) and put it back in, started it up again and then it didnt even get past the windows log in, well atleaste i didnt hear it but i dont know what went rong. does anyone know whats rong? did my cpu fry? i want one of them new duos!
 
can you try taking your sister's graphix card and popping it your's just to see if it's the graphix card thats the problem?
 
well, she has an on board, and my x850 is agp. also, i would hear it boot up if it was my gfx card, i made it so when windows logs on it says a dave chepelle quote so i would hear that. why would my gfx card jsut have crapped out after like 5 months? i have not oc'd anything -jay
 
noone on this entire website knows whats rong? would it be my gfx card? we had a heat wave here in new york, could this have caused it? i turn my comptuer off every night so its not always on. would it be my cpu? ive had my 7800gt for 5 months, is it still under warrentee from evga?
 
Patience my friend, have patience. It sure sounds like a gfx problem. Could have shorted out or something and I doubt its the heat wave, I live in arizona and my comp runs 24/7, costs more to turn it off with the power surge and all and I am folding, see if a friend or someone has a video card you can borrow, also just once again make sure everything is seated all the way down into the slots.
 
yea... i know i need patience but you know the feeling of not being able to use a computer when it is half of your life dont you? im on a crappy lab top that shuts off right in the middle of when im doing something important. ill try and find a card that i could use but i dont know. thanks for the help

I know that feeling and it sucks. Ya I mean do any of your friends game at all, if they do 1 of them is bound to have a pci-e card.
 
yea i found a kid that has one but he forgot to bring it over, what would be the next thing if its not the gfx card? what should i do in terms of warrentee on it? i bought it 5-6 months ago and i didnt over clock it so would they cover it? how long would it take to get it fixed? thanks -jay

Where did you buy it from, normally places like newegg give you a year for an rma, and normally its just a matter of you send the old one in they send you a new one back. Other places are more picky about it.
 
i bought it from newegg, but when i went on there it said something about 30 days return or something? would they send me a brand new one or would they repair mine and send it back? thanks -jay

Newegg replaces it, in fact they don't even test it normally, 30 day return policy 1 year rma replacement policy.
