i think someone is setting me up. some weird files on found useing 'file recover'

i just did a file recovery of the deleted stuff on my pc to find a song i liked and found some weird picturs of terrorists and obama and borris jhonson and some dieing poor people in africa. Dose this stuff come from web sites ive visited or what? It scared the hell out of me when i saw it! I had images i had seen on facebook but not clicked on to view, dose the system save all of the images i ever have seen or not seen on the web or what. What the hell is going on? Is this normal??

How do you do a file recovery as i would like to have a go.As to your images
i'm afraid i cant help but there will be someone on here who can.

It costs money to actually do the recovery but you can download software that finds deleted files in the click of a button. Just do a search on google for 'file recovery' and take your pick.

Trust me its as simple as, if not simpler than installing a game.

It looks/sounds like you recovered all the temp files from being online. You can clear all the temps from your system with something like CCleaner. But the files are still on the hard drive unless you automatically/manually overwrite each individual file (CCleaner can be set to do this).

Its because all the computer is doing when deleting something is removing the file's index number. Without the number, that file is essentially "deleted", the OS cant find the file on the hard drive. As you have discovered, the file is still there, the computer couldn't find it. Hard drive recovery programs, like Recuva from Piriform can find all the deleted files and resets them with an index number and then you can see them!

When you performed the recovery you must have just done a blanket recovery of everything your program found and you recovered EVERYTHING. So now you need to get rid of the crap you don't need/want. Next time you need to recover a file, take your time and be more selective.

As to all the crazy crap you saw, that's pretty normal from all kids of ads and other web candy holding all kinds of surprises! Its crazy that kind of stuff that ends up in the temp folder just from minutes of browsing.

yeh just kinda freaked me out seeing all that stuff i had never seen before there, but if you say that kinda stuff is from adds etc then i guess its nothing to worry about.

thanks.:)

Just the same, I'd go ahead and re-delete of all the garbage that was restored. Then in the future run CCleaner every few weeks with it set to overwrite everything it finds (on at least 3X overwrite) and you wont as much of a problem when you need to find a file for recovery.

EDIT: And give Recuva a try for file recovery instead of whatever you're using. Its much easier to work with when trying to find specific files for recovery, its from a well known firm, and its free! Recuva
