I tunes not importing all my music

Hi all, ever since I installed the new i tunes it doesn't seem to want to install my whole music collection, only about 140 songs, so I went to one of the folders in my music collection and tried to drag that into i tunes, but it didn't add the music, so I opened the folder pressed select all and tried to add the files that way and it worked, but there are far too many folders to even think about doing that, does anyone know of another way, have I done something wrong here?

Hi, thanks for the reply, tried that and absolutely nothing happened, I also tried changing the media location and pressing scan for music hoping that might help, i tunes just seems to keep getting worse with every update, the I pod is the only thing I would ever buy from Apple and the crap software is even slowly talking me out of that

That's weird, it works fine with me. Have you tried re-installing Itunes?

Sorry, forgot to check this, it was actually from a fresh install of i tunes I have had the problem, I have always used i tunes with no problem and even when I didn't have an i pod I still used i tunes for music as I have always hated windows media player, It seems to be a recent problem ever since I installed a newer version, but I will try re installing just to be sure, thanks for the reply

I have solved this problem, unfortunately for me though, it involved me going into each folder in my music folder, and moving every file into one folder, there were a colossal amount of folders in here, with lots more folders in them, it wasn't fun!
