The only thing that runs the movie is VideoLAN but, no sound, terrific
Anything else, DivX doesn't, WMP doesn't. Any idea?

Try powerdvd google for it you should be able to get a free trial and it should play all dvds.

very good is also GOM player. and it has its own codecs included so it doesn't depend on codecs you have installed in your system...

what type of dvd is this? i mean normal size main stream american region bought from store leagel? does it work in a stand alone dvd play for a TV? it could be some sorta DRM
