The lack of formats is horrible, all of my videos are not widescreen, and it's generally slow and annoying to use. whats a good free alternative that lets you customize how you save your video, like the vista and xp movie makers let you do.

The windows live one is just shameful.

thanks for the link. Don't really want to burn to dvd. i just want to be able to customise the bitrate and resolution and so on of my video, for optimum size and quality, the live movie maker has very basic options. The older version were better.

I had some video's the other day which was from a movie camera and 'MOV' format. Then used the dvd maker. Then again i told the person to change the format of the movie camera and up the res.

One note though: there are more and can be found in the section dedicated to free software. i think its a sticky.

Yeah i had a look there, weren't any that caught my eye. I think I'll go look and find out if i can get the vista version for 7.

One other thought that caught my eye. Im using windows 7 pro. In Windows media center scroll down to task / burn cd/dvd. I will have to take a look at that one. Always learning something new. I use it to watch local news / tv.
