I'm thinking between 1.8 Ghz (recommended) to 2.4Ghz very max. What do you use the computer for? You should buy the CPU according to the type of usage you what from it.

1.8 to 2.4 O.O I SERIOUSLY doubt that's possible... OK, to give you real info, I really need you to run something like CPUz so I can get some actual specs on your board. Chipset and possibly mobo model.

With what I know, I'm afriad you're quite limited. There's a limit to certain speed processors the mobo can handle. Hell I probably have a newer 'old' machine(socketA, AGP4x, etc etc) that can only go up to 1.4GHz.

Now you can get what's called a Slocket(convertes Slot1 to socket 370) but you're still limited by your motherboard...

A board that age, it's probaly about time to just upgrade it.

I really need to know about this! :D

er, cpuz pics are here http://www.fotothing.com/gf6600

I need to know what I need to look for when im looking for Pentium 3 processors, I found this site with all the Pentium 3 processors

http://processorfinder.intel.com/scripts/list.asp?ProcFam=25&PkgType=ALL&SysBusSpd=ALL&CorSpd=ALL

I think mine is the last one on the list, wayyyyy at the bottom :(

What do i need to look for? sSpec#, CPU Speed, Bus Speed, Mfg. Tech, Stepping, Cache Size, Package Type

I know for sure about the bus speed, but I have no idea with the rest, and also know the slot 1 and socket 370 difference. What is SECC2 and S.E.C.C.2, aren't they both the same?
