I want to upgrade....

I don't know what I should go for first. I have a pretty nice computer. But it was built for me about a year and a half ago. So I know it needs some updating. Any suggestions on what to go for first. I am mostly a net surfer.
 
Your PC is still good, I've got almost the same performance with my specs.
But if you still want to upgrade, I'd say 4 GB of RAM (will last like an year) and a new video card (this really depends on your budget). The processor could be overclocked a little.
 
would personally say that 2gb of ram is still plenty, cant think of many things that are going to requite more than that outside of video editing and such.

The graphics card would certainly be the part I would suggest upgrading right now, the X1650 is potentially a bottleneck in the system if you do anything along the lines of gaming on it.

I suppose the key question really is what do you mainly use your system for and are you noticing any areas in which its perhaps a little sluggish?
 
I am mostly just a surfer. I research things. Keep in contact with distant friends and family. I had it overclocked more. It was running kinda hot though. I'm hoping to get it back to speed today when I can get in touch with my dad. Unless anyone else has any suggestions on oc. =] Thanks !
 
to be honest with you, if thats mainly what you do with the system then its already more than powerful enough for your needs, if it was me i'd be spending money on something else instead :)


of course if you still want to upgrade then I would certainly recommend the graphics card out of everything, some good deals about now on them.

i agree,tbh i think her system is overkill for what he she does on it.
 
your PC is fine for your needs. the money is better spent somewhere else.

you could help get a starving college student out of debt if you'd like. :P
 
I have 8 tats already and plenty of piercings. I get on Second Life every now and again. My dad built the it for me, I told him I didn't need all the goodies. I just want it to be fast.
hmmm....Maybe I need to put it to good use. Anyone suggest any cool games?

Depends on what games you might be into..

Racing/Driving, RPG, Puzzles, Shooters, Strategy?
 
Strategy or Racing. I love racing. I kick ass on most game consoles. At least for being a girl. lol =]

Casie..nothing to do with being a girl...if your good your good no matter what sex..

Anyhow,'

GRID is a great game...so many thing to do...and it talks to you when you start up so dont be too blitz when you play or it will freak you out...;)

GTA4 is hella good...obviously not strictly racing but there is so much to do, shooting, driving, missions, waste time..etc..
 
Alright I'll have to try that. Def will watch out how much I consume before playing. Thanks for the looks! ;)
