I want windows xp back but...

Heres the deal I got my toshiba laptop running windows xp home not long ago then I decided to try out ubuntu and Its ok but I would like xp back but all the disk that came with the computer does is reformat. Before it used to reformat and reinstall windows xp but now it just formats what can i do without going and spending all of my money on a new copy of xp

That CD is it recovery cd or full version?

windows may have been on a second partition on the hard drive, which got formatted over.....

Or borrow OS CD from your friend and intall OS using your cd key.

yeah i tried that. they where both the same service pack(2) but they where diffrent build so my key does not work when i build my computer ill use that disk and call microsoft and see if they will get it to work but i kinda dont want to wait so long

If heyman421 is right (with the OS on your HD) you don't have much choice there...do you

ok so i guess when i get my copy of windows in march ill see if i can get my key activated to that build thanks for your help any ways
