hope that my computer will work tonight. heres the scoop. had a beer dumped on my comp bout 2 months ago. everything seemed to work fine except the keyboard. so i went online and ordered a new keyboard installed the keyboard and everything works fine. the only problem i have with the computer is that everytime i turn it off, it will not turn back on for an extended period of time ie 3 hours. the light powers on, the fan turns on, but nothing else. then i just go ahead and hold down the power button to turn it off. if i leave it alone about 3 hours later it seems to boot up fine. anybody have any clues as to what might be causeing this, please let me know.
 
now why on earth would that matter? :P

Now tell us where the beer touched, such as just the keyboard or the entire setup (tower, monitor - everything). With the information provided, I can't do anything but guess it's some sort of power short or something. I would think your power supply would be adequate, considering it's and prebuilt system (it is right?).
 
its an emachines m6805 laptop. the beer spilt all on the keyboard. i shut off the system immediatly then let it dry for 3 days. everything worked except for the keyboard. then after i shut it down i noticed it wouldnt start up right away. if it is a power short of some kind what could i do to avoid this, other then not turning my computer off?

btw, it was a miller lite pounder my girl dumped on it
 
ever since the beer spilt on it, ive had to wait at least 2 hours, after turning it off, before the computer will turn on again. if it is a power supply issue, what is my next step in trouble shooting this problem?
 
so you think a new power source is in order... not too sure what to get but i'll investigate, thanks for the help guys

btw, "love" is blinding... still with the clumsy b*tch
