Hi all i would like to make my internet connect its self my provider is supanet and my modem is a zoom ppp dsl, when i turn on my computer i have an icon on my desktop that i have to right click and then click dial.

I am on broad band so idealy i would like it to connect its self

Do you have a router? If you do you can set up your router to automaticly dial in to your broadband provider, and the connection would stay alive as long as your router was on.

Open the Control Panel
Open the Internet Options
Click on the connections tab
Highlight the connection you want to Autodial
Then click on "Dial Whenever a network connection is not present".

Should hopefully work...If it doesn't...

Open the Control Panel
Open "Network Connections"
At the top, click on "Advanced"
Select "Dial-Up Preferences"
Uncheck "always ask me before autodialing"
Uncheck "disbale autodial while I am logged on".

Should hopefully work now :P

That didnt work :S but thanks any way

Were talking about broadband DSL, on my desktop i have a link to were to dial its called ZOOM PPP DSL and ideally i would like it to connect its self i have been through all the internet options and advanced settings ect but still cant do it.

oh and no i dont have a router

Can any one help

Thanks

There should be a setting in the router for mantaining your connection while idle, some ISP's will (by default), have it drop it's connection, so they can recycle your IP address back into their pool, (usually if they are short on available addresses and heavy on customers). So, look in the router setup somewhere for it... happy hunting! :)

there has to be a way to do it
like someone else i seen had just said, try putting it in the startup folder
if that dosen't work, i know most programs, not sure about broadband though, give you an option while installing them to start when windows starts. maybe try that?

Right i have tried every option all i get is a stupid dial up connection now that wont go away until i shut it about 3 times, i put the icon in start up but it onli brings up the page were i click dial, it would be nice for it to connect itself without me even clicking any one help?
