Hi everyone,

at the moment i have a del dimnesion 8300 3.4 GHz, 2GB of ram , 9800 Radeon XT desktop.

I am trying to decide, if i should upgrade my current system or buy a AMD off alienware.com ( Aurora 7500 ) .

but what bothering me is in deciding im hearing alot of stuff about , that im better off waiting till new windows vistas come out? so hearing that, makes me think if i should get the aurora gaming laptop for now till next year.

Please help me choose from these three options

Upgrade current system
Buy a alienware aurora
or get a alienware laptop for gaming

i would wait and buy a new system once Vista comes out. then you can upgrade your current system to vista. alienware is way overrated. what is the memory on that vid card?

I would sell my desktop
you can post offers here, I am thinking about building one or getting a alienware. i can complain about dell products, i love the cpu still its just time for a change. all I do on my system is play world of warcraft, final fantasy XI and browse the internet like crazy.

If you are just playing games like that you could build yourself a nice desktop for relatively cheap and use your monitor/keyboard/mouse from your dell. I built a nice desktop for myself using some spare parts (monitor/keyboard/mouse/HD/DVD+RW/CD-R). Just got a case, mobo, cpu, ram, and put it all together.

why didn you say that in the first post lol?!?!??! that is the best option

I prefer to build my own rig. I don't like most of the hardware that comes with a store bought 'puter.

It's cheaper, if you shop around and do your homework.

i dont know how to build. and too much headche to even worry about it, unless its as easy as changing a video card to a new'er one?

that 7500 aurora could run me around ... 4800$ the one i want, how much would it cost me if i build the same one with same specs?

FX-60 Processor
512 7900 GeForce GTX
148 exterme HD 10,000 RPMs
2GB of ram
Aegia Physics proccesor

I didn't know how to build untill I built this computer that I'm using right now.

It's easy to actually put it together. The hard part is making sure it's all compatable before you drop the cash on stuff.

stick with what you have unless you really want a laptop, i would kill to have a 3.4ghz cpu and 2gb's of ram. if you put Vista on your 3.4ghz,2gb trust me you will have no problem running it.
trust me, you wont even have to get a new

But thats why we're here, isn't it. :D

I agree, once I had the parts I built my first computer in like 3 hours. Had linux on it in another 3 days, and now its my server.
