i7 2600k watercooled

Right now I have the Q9450 with water cooling and i'm pretty sure that my heat sink (watercooled) will not just slap on there anymore. :-/

Soooo, when changing out my processor, do I just need a heatsink to put on there? Or are there other things involved? I would buy new tubing since the tubing I have no is old and stained on the inside.

Is there one that you guys recommend?

Just drill out the 775 holes on your hold down bracket slightly larger, it will be close enough to 1156 to work.

Does your water block have a backplate? Or does it just use bolts and washers?

can't you just get a new waterblock and use the same everything else? i'm probably completely wrong here, just voicing the opinions of an ignorant computer head

personally i would go for a brand new cpu block and renew the tubing, also take the barbs off and wash the whole lot out. (check rubber rings around base of barbs for rot/cracking)

i used to pull my water cooling loop to bits every 3-6months and give it a complete clean out

edit,

just seen another thread of yours with a pic of your liquid cooling cpu block and it is infact thermaltake, my opinion has now changed...

go with a decent air cooler, save up and get a decent liquid cooling kit - i have owned a thermaltake and they are utter garbage sorry friend ;(
