Hello Everyone I was just seeing what you guys Think about the i7-6700k processor I have wanted to build a pc for The longest Time and finally made up my mind on deciding to build one. I was Orginally Going to get a i7-4790k but finally decided to get a i7-6700k Just becuase its a bit newer and a tad more future proof. Do you guys think I should maybe wait a bit Longer for another version of a i7 6th gen or that a i7-6700k will last me a good while before I need to update again. I was thinking of waiting until 2016 to see if any New 6th gen Proccesors come out but I kinda have my idea set in stone of getting a computer as soon as possible. Thanks so much for the Input guys any advice helps and Im always here if anyone ever needs me. You guys are the best - Summit

Could have asked this in your original thread instead of making a new one. As far as I know, they aren't bringing out anything better for awhile. You will be future proof for years to come as far as cpu goes.

I'm using an i7 3770K which came out in 2012 and it's still a fantastic CPU. Just get an i7 6700K and enjoy it. :D

i7-5820K is much more future porof than i7-6700K and not much more expensive. Also it has much better build quality. i7-6700K has very bad thermal paste solution between core and heatspreader. Also 6700K is thinner than previous i7 processors and it will cause problems with almost every cooler on market. Considering that 6700K is quite expensive, those drawbacks make it impossible to recommend.

Not sure how that would affect any heat sinks as they all simply tighten down without concern of the thickness.

Both those links show issues to do with user error. Not correct installation and care.

Then why Scythe introduced diffrerent screwset for some coolers? It may take even years to get full picture of this "bendgate". Still, some prefer not to take unnecessary risks.

Because they don't want issues. Users simply don't install it properly causing issues.
