i7 920 - Aftermarket Cooler

Hello,
I have an i7 920 (see specs in sig) which is not OC and it idles around 44C during the hottest part of the day. It has seen upper 30C at times but usually in the low 40C.

Would anyone on these forums recommend and aftermarket cooler to get these temps down a little or do you find these acceptable? Thanks for any input you can provide.

1.What is your ambient temperature?
2.Would you be overclocking in the future?
3.Please run Prime95 Torture Test and post your on load Result temperature.
4.What is your Budget for an Aftermarket Cooler?

I really like that water cooled system.

My office is the hottest room in the house because of it's location but I have never checked it's temp.

Last night was testing a few things within my case. I have some 3100 RPM Sunon fans that were too loud since I don't have a fan controller. I removed then and installed some Antec Tri-Cools and ran them on medium. The temps didn't really change.

I checked the temp with both case sides off and recorded the results. I then checked the temp with both side panels on and the temps really didn't change. So, if my CPU temp is the same with the panels on as it is with them off, is that a good sign?

if you want utter low temps the noctua is your pony, it will beat the h-series corsair units...if you want a neat looking installation in a smaller case...get the h60...and if you want the cheapest solution, get the coolermaster, it will be a step up from the stock unit for sure.

+1 The Noctua NH-D14 really is a beast.
You can also checkout the Thermalright Silver Arrow, amazing CPU cooler. :D
Then there is also the CM V6GT.
