I'm pretty sure it was 279 the other day. It's now selling for 339.

Maybe they were waiting to see what the Phenom II was selling for - and figured they have an advantage to where Intel can command a higher premium for their multi-processing advantage.

Was shocked to see a $60.00 Price jump overnight.

Please tell me this isn't a common happening with CPU chips. I'm gonna have a hard time planning a build if these prices swing up like this one just did. I was actually hoping the 955's would come down about 20 bucks in the next 2 months.

Hmmm, I just figured it out - somehow I got to the Newegg.ca website instead of newegg.com. Looks like the prices are still where they were the past week or so.

But while the topic is up - Over the next month - 3 months tops - will these prices likely hold where they're at - increase - or come down 20 or 30 bucks. I know there's a new chip coming in the 4th quarter that runs a quad on 95 W instead of 125W. I expect to see some more AM3 MOBO's coming out - maybe prices coming down a bit there - but what about CPU's?

I'd like to build today - but I prefer to pay with cash - rather than credit - and I haven't saved enough for a full system build just yet.

lol you asked a question, replied to it, and then answered it on your own. i think you have a split personality :P

You are looking at the Canada prices at NewEgg.com. Take a look at this link. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=50001028&Description=Phenom II&name=AMD
The United States prices are still the same.

You might also want to compare the prices at NewEgg on central processing units to www.ZipZoomFly.com.

I couldn't figure out why CA ( I though California ) was so much higher than the rest of the country.

I'll add zipfly to my favorite places tab.

Thanks
