i7

^^ Not at all. Don't listen to him.

Extreme Core 2 Quad is based off of an older architectural design. It's 2 Core 2 Duo's stuck together with an unlocked multiplier.

The Core i7 Extreme Edition is a TRUE Quad core with an unlocked multiplier and has a better architectural design making it MUCH faster than the Core 2 Extremes.

As a matter of fact, the i7 Extreme Edition is twice as fast as the QX9770 clock for clock on benchmarks.

its a qx9775 not a 9770, the 9775 is an lga 771 form, which means you can buy a skulltrail board, and use two for a total of 8(real) cores, wheras the i7 will have 4(hyper threaded) cores, that didn't really have anything to do with anything, but intel calls the skulltrail platform an enthusiest setup, so they just marketed it at a higher price

hmm thats new, most of what ive heard is that the extreme is made for gaming-from what ive heard

intel's marketing, only difference between the extreme's and normal processors is an unlocked multiplier and a better(larger) stock heatsink, and i think the warrenty might stay until you go to around 1.45 volts, rather than 1.35 volts

There is no reason to buy QX9770 when you can get i7 920 for 1/4 the price

The slowest i7 perform almost as good as the fastest Core 2
