Icon?

Does anyone know how to remove that (safely remove hardware) icon by my clock?

erm... well, i take it you dont want to actually take the device out then, you want it connected but no icon to appear?

the only way i can immediately think of is to right click on the notification area and click "CUSTOMIZE NOTIFICATIONS", then when the window opens up, find the "safely remove hardware entry and set it to "always hide"

try right clicking on it or on the notification area and selecting Properties. Under the Notification area heading, click Customize. Find the Safely Remove Hardware icon and select Always hide in the Behavior column next to it (press OK and Apply to back out).

I dont want to hide it I want it gone, I would like to know how to get rid of it?

its part of the system.. so you can't remove it.. its like saying u dont need ur usb anymore.. unless u want that

yah, its like trying to delete the start button, anyway, hiding it will be like its gone anyway. You wont knwo its there and neither will anyone else. Whats the problem with that, it will technically be gone just hisding in a place where no one can see it.
