Icons Re-appear After Deleted

I have download 'The Langoliers Part 2' from Google Video. I have been trying to convert the file to AVI or MPG format. No matter what I did, it didn't work. After awhile, I deleted it, afterwards it re-appears back on my desktop so I delete it again. When I start up my computer again the next day, it is back on my desktop. I delete it, and it comes back right after I delete it. When I delete it again, it comes back awhile later or when I turn on my computer again. It's been happening for at least a week. I also have the same problem with other icons that are not on my desktop.
 
See if you have any odd entries in your Startup menu folder:

Start -> Programs -> Startup

Open the Registry Editor ( Start -> Run -> regedit )and look in the following Registry Location for anything that looks related (use caution when using the Registry, do not delete anything you are not sure of):
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run

Also, if you are saying that it sometimes returns before you reboot, I would do some virus, adware and spyware scans of your system.
 
I meant odd entries like programs you don't use or that don't sound familiar to you. Both these locations initiate programs to run when your computer boots. Sorry if that was confusing.

But again, like I said, if you are getting theses deleted items returning even before you restart I would concentrate more on a thorough scan of your system with an anti-virus, Ad-Aware, and Spybot S&D.
 
I no longer have any problem with files re-appearing. I had deleted some files a while ago and some stuff from the registry and everythings good.
