What am i doing wrong

ok, im trying to change the icons for my folders, i opened the %SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll with ResHacker, and replaced the folder icon with my different folder icon, i saved it, and rebooted, it didnt change, is there something im doing wrong?

Why don’t you use right click>Properties> Customize>Change icon…
I don’t know why RH doesn’t do the work.

because to my understanding, that just changes that one icon, im not going to do that to every folder in my computer, i have thousands of folders

your right, that only does it to taht icon. Are you trying to change system icons like the recycle bin, my computer, ect? If so, you can go into the registry and try to change where the icon is coming from.

It's prolly the WFP replacing the files, theres a way to disable it, searched google for "WPF Disable" or "Disable windows file protection"
