IDE - 2 HHDs & CD-RW

I have 2 HHD and a CD-RW. Does it matter which two devices I pair on an IDE cable..?

With two ide hard drives and an ide optical the usual setup would see both hard drives on the primary cable as master and slave there with the optical mastered on the secondary. Hard drives however can be slaved to optical drives. But the preferred setup sees the OS/boot drive as Primary master.

In otherwords, no it doesn't matter as long as the cable with two drives has one master and one slave and the primary hdd is the master of the primary channel.
