IDE drives and SATA drives

Can I run both IDE hard drives and SATA hard drives at the same time, or is it only 1 way or the other way? I was told at a pc show bout 2 years ago, that you cannot run IDE alongside SATA.

What show was that...? They were wrong. It's obviously limited on how many drives you can fit, but you can run as many SATA drives and as many IDE drives as you want at the same time (motherboard allowing it - ports are limited lol )

I think I've been to that "PC Show" he's talking about it. It's about a half step up from buying things out of a trunk from some dude in an ally.

I'm running a system just fine with an IDE and a SATA HDD in it.
