IDE Vs. SATA

Hi,

I was wondering, what are the advantages of getting SATA HDD's?

On my MB i have 4 SATA ports, and then 2 Raid IDE Ports. For my next hard drive, would i be better off getting SATA??

WHat are the Pro's and cons of them??

Thanks

for all intents and purposes its the same speed, the HDD can't write at ata133 speeds let alone at 150 for sata speed. Essentially the advantage is the smaller cable and less power usage

sata is faster and its a smaller cable
But IDE just means integrated drive electronics ...

Essentially the advantage is the smaller cable and less power usage
Hehehe and the disadvantage is that sometimes the SATA controllers arent clock-locked :P heehee, nonlocked SATA controllers are not very OC friendly :P

I think that a better comparison would be EIDE vs. SATA
EIDE = Enhanced Integrated Drive Electronics ... a physical spec.
SATA = Serial AT Attatchment ... a transfer spec

.. i fail to see how a comparison would be useful
