there is one piece of info missing. The wattage and brand of your PSU.
Also missing the brand and model of the motherboard

So, possibly PSU, a GTX550ti or higher GPU if you need a new one. Otherwise looks like a nice system.

the mobo is an asus m4a78lt-m (which i have been told takes low end hex cores :D, this is unconfirmed though)

the power supply is an icute one i think, the stickers on the side facing the case lol, i know its 780 watts though

what difference would changing the psu make, sorry if i sound like im trolling, i honestly dont know

Higher end GPUs require more power, and even though yours is 780w, its from an unknown brand, and from a quick google search, it does not look like a good PSU. You may risk your entire system if you try to run a high end GPU on a lesser quality PSU.

ok cool well cheers for the advice, would anyone suggest getting a standalone sound card, would i really tell the difference from onboard when i play games (im not after a surround sound or anything like that)

what i am after tho is a decent monitor if anyone has one for sale?

Got a lot of things going on here. First, I just got a new sound card, and it is a huge difference. What speakers/headphones are you using?

And you'd have to have 100 posts to post in the for sale section. For a decent monitor, I would go for a 1080p resolution, but to get that, you'd need a better video card to run at that resolution.

Biggest thing to know is what you want to spend on everything.

oh dear thers so many variables i didnt expect to get asked lol by the sounds of it i need a new psu and graphics card before i start to look into anything else

if you game and want a 1080p monitor, you will need a new graphics card. A new graphics card needs a new PSU.

The rest of your system is golden.
