i have this Compaq evo Pc which im trying to identify the model. Its not listed anywhere on it.There's only the braded XP sticker and the one for the serial number. It is a flat-bed one.Isn't there a tool i can use to identify this pc , cuz i tried "dxdiag " thru the run command i dont get System model ..really odd cuz i tried it on a compaq evo d310 and it gave me the model.

anyways just asking if theres a tool to do this ?

If I right-click on My Computer (either desktop link or Windows Explorer), then select properties, this will tell me the basic make/model on the front page that this pops... The rest of the hardware is identifiable from the other tabs on this screen...

Try this. If it helps, wicked. If not, let me know.

on HP/Compaq computers there are two numbers on a silverish sticker on the machine somewhere. One is the serial number (s/n) and the other is the product number (p/n). You can search the downloads section of HPs website with the product number and it should pull everything up. I do all the warranty work at my job for all the HP/Compaq desktops, laptops, and servers and that is how I usually look up info.
