IE 7 Home Page Buggy

In IE 7 the home page defaults to MSN.com no matter what I do.
In the preferences I select my preferred home page and tell it to make it the default it sez okay but then reverts back to MSN.com.
When I setup IE 7 it asked me what default hom page I wanted but that didn't seem to make a difference - still MSN.com.


Most Annoying!!

any ideas?

there must be a line in the registry somewhere that is not changing.
 
Have you got any anti hacking / security programs that are monitoring your homepage and refusing you to change it.
 
you can use HijackThis! to delete your homepage setting. If you run a scan, it should be one of the first ones on the top.
 
solutions

well in a round about kind f way I solved this issue -

I installed the Yahoo! version of IE 7 and that fixed the problems - weird, eh?

but for future refference it was suggested that I uninstall things like AdAware, Spybot, and epecially Norton AV - then reinstall IE 7 and then reinstall the others - that seems to have worked for other people.
