IE 8 off - why temp files created?

I recently did a clean install of Windows 7 to replace Vista. I purposely did not choose to install or turn on Internet Explorer (I use Firefox). But when I run CCleaner, it still shows some IE temp files that can be deleted.

Of course I delete them, but why do they show up in the first place? Thanks, Larry

Internet explorer is integrated into every windows operating system and Cannot or Should Not be removed. Internet explorer is needed to run Windows Updates. You just have to deal with it.

Yep. Unfortunately that's why it killed off netscape because it came integrated with windows :(
