IE 8 (Primitive) vs. Opera (High-Tek)

Even with the release of IE 8 just a few days ago, I find that Internet Explorer 8.0 is very primitive, compared to Opera. Here's why:

=> Opera "notepad" opens in a tab inside the browser, auto-saves, useful for things like copying and storing multi-part rapidshare/megaupload/netfile links.

=> Opera file "transfers" manager. Let's say you're downloading 5 files in the background, everything is presented to you under one tab in Opera, including the ability to pause and resume the downloads, and to check if there were any errors during the download. In IE, that's 5 download windows popping up... urgh...

=> Imagine if on your toolbar, there is a button for Hotmail, a button for Gmail, a button for Gamespot, and button for ComputerForum, a button for SuperHeroHype, a button for IMDB, a button for... well, you get the idea. Opera toolbar stores favicon links for quick access to your most frequented web sites. Just drag a tab onto the toolbar, and you've made a favicon "bookmark" link out of it. There are currently 25 favicon links on my Opera toolbar right now, and it doesn't even take half the width of the toolbar. With IE8, you open the favorites drop down menu (that's one click), choose an applicable sub-folder (that's two clicks), and find what you're looking for (that totals three clicks). Now, imagine all the work you'd have to do in IE8, just to visit all of your favorite bookmarks.

=> Opera is the originator of the "speed dials", a matrix of thumbnail links on a blank page. Google Chrome tried to rip off this idea via 9 most frequently visited web sites... But that defeats the purpose. Let's say you've stumbled onto Myspace for the first time, and you want to remember this web site. Do you bookmark it? You can, but you might not remember what the web site is about later on, if you're not already familiar with it. With Opera, you just drag the Myspace tab onto an empty speed dial. There you go, you've not only just bookmarked it, but stored a thumbnail preview too, so you can remember what the web site content is about later on. Now, imagine if you'd bookmarked 9 unfamiliar sites with IE8. Without a thumbnail preview, you might be totally lost later on and have no clue why you even bookmarked it in the first place.

There you have it, the four reasons why Opera is like a Swiss army knife, while IE8 is like a table, or a dinner knife...

1 thing that Opera lack most and that thing is very important feature in any browser, livebookmark.
that the only reason I don't use Opera. If this feature available in the future, i definitely switch to it..

I still like firefox but I like Opera for the simple fact that I can sync my pages with Opera Mini on my blackberry so when i come home at night I can pull up on my pc any sites that I bookmarked on my phone earlier which is pretty sweet.

I'm confused... What's the difference between a RSS feed and a live bookmark?

Did you ever use Firefox?? I bet you do and with livebookmark, you can access feed in toolbar with ease and quick...
