IE help

I got a bunch of adware and spyware on my computer and its been making internet explorer has been giving me tons of popups and my desktop icons have been disapearing. I have tried some free adware abd spyware remover but they dont do much I really dont want to pay for one because if it doesent work It will be a waste of money. so If anybody will give me suggestions I would greatly appreciate it :) thanks
 
Yeah, do a HouseCall. Also, run Ad-Aware and Spybot in safe mode, and they should be able to work a lot more effectively for ya.
