IE Problem: Please Help!

Over the past 24 hours, I've noticed that I am unable to get to a certain website (www.photobucket.com) through my computer anymore. At first I just thought that the site was down but when I started asking around, other people could view it fine and view images from it fine when they are on a different site. I can't do any of that. It just tells me the site is unavailable and that the pictures aren't as well when they are on another site.

I've already gone into the security settings of IE to make sure that I hadn't accidently blocked the site, as well as run four different spy/ad/virus scans on my computer.

If anyone knows what is wrong with my computer or how I can fix it, that would be wonderful. Thank you.

Are you at work or school? An admin might have blocked it. Did you do something wrong on the site? They might have blocked you..

I'm at home. I don't think I've done something wrong on the site. I never got an email stating I did and now that I've can't get to the site, I can't even go there to get an email address of customer support.

Are you the only one with access to your router? Do you have a router? ALSO try this.. Go start and click the run box... in the run box type "CMD" and then type "ping 38.116.157.194" Does it show a reply or is it show a dead host?

I have the box that the cable company brought me. It's a little RCA box that says broadband on it. I don't have wireless or anything though. Okay, I pinged it and it said:

Request timed out

Ping Statistics for 38.116.157.194:
Packets: Sent = 4, Recieved = 0 Lost = 4 (100% loss)

Do you use an antivirus program, or a Firewall other than Winxp?

On another note.. Aol will be your new ISP they purchased Time warner.. Also known as roadrunner.. :) i hate AOL..

try this command and see how far out your ping request goes before it gets stopped. It almost sounds like your ISP is blocking it, this should find out:

tracert 38.116.157.194

You'll see the IP address of every point your request hits. ie: you ip, your cable modem, your isp's dns, etc. verify that it's getting past your computer's IP and your cable modem's ip, if it gets to your ISP's dns servers then dies at that point or while still in there network, you'll need to call them and have them fix it.

Try disabling the norton, and the antispyware... That may be your problem.. and the tracert thing...

Okay, disabled both norton and the antispyware. Didn't change anything.

With the tracert, it it go past my IP, Past the Road Runner IP, through a couple more IP numbers, and then it stopped at

p-16-0-1-3.r21.snjsca04.us.bb.verio.net [129.250.9.41]

and then it started doing the request timed out again about 15 more times beceofre it said trace complete.

Ah, okay. So there is nothing I can really do but wait till they fix their problems. Thank you so much for all your help!

It looks like verio's got some dns servers down at the moment. Unless your ISP is part of Verio and works on their network OR uses verio's dns servers, you should be able to get to where you're going after a bit, your computer should be finding a different route. You may want to call your ISP and find out if they're affiliated with Verio...
