IE starts then shuts off

When I open IE on my computer at work, it just starts up then shuts right back down.

I have restarted and I do not have any rollback feature on this PC.

Any help? Please advise.

If you go to start>all programs>windows update, does the window stay open? Or does it close again?

it shuts off when i try to bring window update up also...

Ouch,

Some things i would try to check.

Run a disk clean up (Start>all programs>accessories>system tools>disk cleanup)
Run a virus scan

If both of those fail, try booting into safe mode with networking. (hit f8 while you start the computer). If that does not work still then it is a more serious problem.
