IE stoped working

Hello
I usually use Firefox which is working fine but occasionally IE is necessary. All I get is this:

"Internet Explorer cannot display the web page

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

What you can try:
Check your Internet connection. Try visiting another website to make sure you are connected.

Retype the address.

Go back to the previous page.

how does firefox connect to the internet then ?
probably inproperconfiguration via Internet Options

Compare you firefox settings to IE. Unless you connect through a proxy, make sure LAN settings is empy. If you do connect through a proxy, make sure LAN settings is configured correctly.

Can you navigate to a page after it gives you this message? Could just be an invalid home page.

Try delete all your cookies and history in IE, then reload it.
