IE6 and OE6 problems

I need help again.... Its really confusing. Outlook Express 6 and Internet Explrer 6 seem not to be installed on my system at all. IE6 has no icons, OE6 has icons but cant find anythign.

So i downloaded the IE6setup.exe file to install them both again, but when i run it it says that a newwer version is already installed..... WTF!!!

Please someone help, running Win XP Pro SP2.

why are you using IE and OE? im geussing its for some one else or work.

countless times, and in different combinations and ways aswell, no luck

yeh, i use those, but thunderbird doesnt support HTTP mail boxes such as hotmail. and some sites are incompatible with FF, such as internet banking and things like Active Folders which i use a lot.

I got IE working, i stole/transferred the files from my 2nd comp into the directory and it worked, i tried the same with OE, but no luck, i also deleted/reset the "identities" for OE, no luck, i deleted all reg keys that get created on first run, so even with fresh keys it doesnt run.

Quite annoying, because at the moment the onyl way i can check my hotmail account is to go on the web, but thats buggy, and i dont like it.

Any suggestions, as i said FORMATTING IS NOT AN OPTION. Im doing tonnes of coursework for A-Levels and having to reinstall everything after backing up files is just too much to handle at the moment.
