ie7 homepage won't change - help!

hi everyone,

Internet Explorer 7 will not change the homepage from MSN regardless of what I do. I have been trying to add Google as a homepage and the changes are not saved.

I’ve run every anti virus and mallaware available (CCleaner, adaware, glary repair, AVG, Spybot, Advanced System Care). I've also checked all the programs to see if the homepage is being hijacked, and they are not. Also read something about Spybot and the IE Tweak, but those aren't checked.

Anyone have any idea what might be the prob and how to fix this??

I have never encountered this problem but have heard of users who do.
For some, trying to change it in safe mode (F8 at boot) worked. Other have fixed this by editing the registry file for the default home page.

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
A REG_SZ value named Start Page (with the space) with the Home Page URL as
its data.
